To equip the saints for the work of ministry...
The growth of Islam along with significant efforts at proselytizing on behalf of Muslim groups throughout the United States presents significant challenges for the Church. In addition to challenges, there are wonderful opportunities to advance the Gospel of grace among Muslim people! We are dedicated to helping Christians understand what Islam is really all about, and how we, as believers should respond.
Pastor Umar Milinde was raised as a Muslim and his father was a local Islamic cleric. He was attacked by Muslim men who threw acid in his face. Pastor Umar's testimony is extremely powerful. He also has a challenge for U.S. Christians and Jews in Israel.
There are groups throughout the United States which are affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Muslim Brotherhood itself which are waging "civilization jihad". These groups are finding our government and our freedoms to be very sympathetic to their cause. The ultimate goal of the Muslim Brotherhood in America is revealed in a statement from their own memorandum where they state what their plan is.
“[We will wage] A kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the western civilization from within, sabotaging its miserable house with [America’s own] hands and the hands of [Muslim] believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions."
The religion of Islam has seen explosive growth in the years following 9/11. In the decade following the 9/11 attacks the number of Muslims in the U.S. has grown by 67% from 1 million to 2.5 million. Today, the Muslim population is well in excess of four million, with some estimates ranging as high as seven. Islam is growing exponentially in the Western world and around the globe. It is vital that church leaders have an understanding of Islam and what its growth means to the Church. Many believers are not familiar with the teachings of Islam; as it grows in its influence in the western world it is very important that we, as believers, have a good understanding of what Islam teaches and how those teachings impact the Christian Church.
